A house is depicted on the Down Survey barony map (1656-8) of Forth barony at Rostonstown (14). According to the Book of Survey and Distribution (1660s) Nicholas Stafford of Ballymacane (WX053-005----) owned 75 acres at Rostonstown in 1640, and over 600 acres in Tacumshin parish (Simington 1953, 304-05). The precise location of this house is not known.
