The Civil Survey (1654-6) describes 'upon the sd lands of Kilcomanbegg stands a stone house' which in 1640 was under the proprietorship of 'Morrish Roch of Killcomanbegg Doctor of Phisick and Thomas Lord Baron of Cahyr Irish Papists' (Simington 1931, vol.1, 355).
