A house with a chimney is marked on the Down Survey map (1655-6) at Curraghmore, and a 'goodly stone house', the property of Lord John of Curraghmore, is mentioned in addtion to the castle (WA008-005001-), in the Civil Survey (1654-6) (Simington 1942, 105).
