Mullally (1862-3, 247) refers to a stone sculpture (TS071-011003-) and mentions that 'Close to this relic are to be seen the broken ruins of the ancient residence and mansion of the family of the O'Shees, where now stands the present residence and mansion of the family of our worthy neighbour, Mrs. Lucy Henderson, of Cloran'. Cloran House is located c. 300m NW of the stone sculpture and is a three-bay, two-storey house of 19th-century date, with a rear extension and outbuildings. There are the remains of other ruinous buildings among the outbuildings but none have the appearance of a 17th house. The house described by Mullally is possibly of 17th date and is in the vicinity of Cloran House but as it could not be precisely located, it is unlocated within the townland.
