What is recorded here

At the NW end of Longford town (LF013-026----). A house belonging to Bartholomew Nangle, which is mentioned in the depositions of the 1641 massacres, was situated at the junction between Little Water St. and Main St.; it was demolished around 1975 (Mac Gleannáin 1980, 66). It is likely that there were more houses of 17th century date on both of these streets as they were the first areas of Longford town to be settled to the S of the river in the first half of the 17th century.
