What is recorded here
Detached four-bay two-storey house, built c.1920, with gablets to first floor windows of front (east) elevation and lean-to extension to side (south). Currently vacant. Pitched artificial slate roof to main block and gablets, having rendered eaves courses to front elevation, rendered chimneystacks, cast-iron rainwater and carved timber bargeboards to gablets. Roughcast rendered walls throughout. Square-headed window openings with limestone sills to front (east) elevation, having margined three-over-three pane timber sliding sash windows. Triangular timber-framed glazing to gablets. Square-headed door opening to front elevation, having glazed timber door. Roughcast rendered plinth boundary wall with chamfered coping surmounted by cast-iron railings. Wrought-iron gate on square-profile roughcast rendered gate piers to east of wall. Two-storey outbuilding to north.
Though now in poor condition, this building's traditional character and form remain apparent. The close proximity of the ground floor lintels to the sills of the windows above is interesting, indicating the modest proportions of the rooms within, and is typical of rural farm houses. The vertically glazed sash windows, gablets and limestone sills are noteworthy features of this picturesque house.
