Detached three-bay two-storey house, extant 1950[?], on a rectangular plan with two-bay two-storey side elevations. Hipped slate roof with perforated crested terracotta ridge tiles extending into lichen-covered terracotta ridge tiles, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on timber eaves boards on box eaves retaining cast-iron downpipes. Gritdashed roughcast walls on rendered plinth with rendered "bas-relief" strips to corners supporting rendered band to eaves. Square-headed central door opening with timber mullions on concrete step threshold supporting timber transom, and concealed dressings framing timber panelled door having sidelights on panelled risers below overlight. Square-headed window openings in tripartite arrangement with concrete sills, timber mullions, and concealed dressings framing one-over-one timber sash windows having one-over-one sidelights. Set back from line of road in landscaped grounds with rendered panelled piers to perimeter having chamfered capping supporting arrow head-detailed wrought iron gate.
A house representing an integral component of the twentieth-century domestic built heritage of Westport with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such attributes as the compact plan form centred on a restrained doorcase; and the slight diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a feint graduated visual impression with those openings showing elegant tripartite glazing patterns. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, thereby upholding the character or integrity of a house making a pleasing visual statement in Quay Road.
