Detached four-bay two-storey house, built c.1900, now derelict and out of use. Steeply hipped natural slate roof having two red brick chimneystacks towards the centre and cast-iron rainwater goods. Segmental-headed window openings having cut stone sills and narrow one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows, boarded up to ground-floor. Segmental-headed door opening having timber flat panelled door and plain glass overlight above. Set back from road in own grounds and bounded to road frontage (north) by wall constructed of rusticated concrete blocks. Rendered wall abuts house to west having round-headed opening with cast-iron gate giving access to rear site (south). Pair of concrete piers having mild steel railings giving access to site (north). Located a short distance to the west of Mullingar adjacent to road junction (west). Vernacular cottage and outhouses lie northwest of house (15401904).

An interesting and attractive modest house, which retains its early form, fabric and character despite its now derelict state. The layout of the chimneystacks suggests that the modest building was skillfully extended by one bay to the west at some stage shortly after construction. Its vertical alignment with its steeply pitched roof and narrow, vertically aligned windows is unusual and makes it a welcome contribution to the streetscape on the west outskirts of Mullingar Town. This house may have some connection with the single-storey vernacular cottage to the immediate west (15401904).
