What is recorded here

The eastern-most of two adjacent medieval houses uncovered during the archaeological excavation of a moated site (CO064-156001-). The western house (CO064-156002-) had its long-axis N-S whereas the eastern house was on an E-W axis. Both houses measured approximately 10m by 5m. The remains of the eastern house suggest that it was at least partially constructed on stone foundations and had a central hearth. Sherds of Saintonge pottery found associated with both houses date them to the 13th century. (Cotter 2003a; 2005a) The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
