What is recorded here

Terraced two-bay three-storey former house, built c.1820, and now in use as a shop with apartment over. The building is finished in render. Each shop window is flanked by decorative pilasters which support the painted signboard; the name has gilded individual letters. Window openings are flat-headed with one over one timber sash frames. The pitched roof is finished with artificial slate and has cast-iron rainwater goods. Chimneystacks are rendered with plain caps and clay pots. The building is road fronted.
This tall narrow building has a strong street presence which adds variety and interest to the mainly 19th-century streetscape.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
