House, indeterminate date

What is recorded here

On a plateau of undulating rough pasture and karst, 17m to the E of a cashel (CL009-001031-) and within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-001001-). A one-roomed, rectangular house site (int. dims. 5.7m E–W; 3.2m N–S; ext. dims. 7.5m E–W; 4.8m N–S) is defined by grass-covered walls (Wth c. 0.8m; H c. 0.3m). There is a doorway (Wth 1m) in the centre of the N wall, and a similar but less well-defined gap in the S wall. An adjacent semi-enclosed space (int. dims. 6.4m E–W; 6.2m N–S) is defined by the house’s N wall and a grass-covered curvilinear wall (L c. 9m) which arcs from the NE corner towards the NW. Some 7m to the E of the house, another grass-covered field bank meanders SW and then S. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy and Conn Herriott Date of upload: 21 July 2022
