Detached four-bay single-storey labourer’s cottage with attic storey, built c.1920, presenting two storeys to rear. Now vacant. Pitched slate roof with red brick chimneystack, cast-iron rainwater goods, exposed roof-timbers to eaves, and timber bargeboards to gables. Harl-rendered walls having render plinth course and red brick block-and-start quoins. Square-headed window openings with render surrounds, masonry sills and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows, and two-pane timber casement window to front (north) elevation, two-over-two pane timber sliding sash window to attic storey to rear elevation. Square-headed door opening to front, having raised render reveal and timber battened door, opening onto stone step.

This modest but well-executed house is typical of those built under the Labourers' Acts from 1883 to 1919, to provide quality accommodation for rural workers and to replace the substandard one-room cabins which were then characteristic of working-class housing. Displaying a high standard of construction, it retains much of its original form and fabric, including timber sliding sash windows and red brick quoins, which provide architectural interest.
