Detached L-plan two-bay two-storey house, built c.1880, with two-storey stairwell section and two-bay porch to rear (south), recent conservatory extension to south. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, limestone gable copings and cast-iron rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls with quoins and roughcast rendered plinth, cut limestone sill course to ground floor. Paired square-headed recesses to front elevation of first floor. Group of three square-headed window openings with stone sills to front elevation having timber casement windows. Paired round-headed window openings with stone sills to gable of side (west) elevation having two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed window opening with stone sill to gable of side (east) elevation with flanking square-headed window openings, two-over-two pane timber sliding sash window to central openings with one-over-three to flanking openings. Round-headed stairwell window with stone sill to rear addition, having six-over-six pane timber sliding sash window with fanlight to upper sash. Square-headed door opening to rear (south) elevation having timber battened door and tooled limestone step. Single- and two-storey outbuildings to rear having pitched slate roofs, rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows to single-storey building and timber battened doors. Replacement fittings to two-storey building. Square-profile ashlar limestone piers to front of site having rendered caps. Set within own grounds.

This unusual house, with its interesting plan and massing, is an excellent addition to the streetscape. Its orientation, battered plinth and varied window openings are features which highlight its quirky character. The related outbuildings and piers add context to its setting.
