Holy well in Oldconnaught

Possible holy well known as St. Charles' Well. In 1837 the Ordnance Survey Letters mentions a well in the S side of the townland of Oldconnaught known as St. Charles' Well. They ascribe some miraculous cures to it, but the custom of venerating such places is now almost done away it. Throughout the county through the interference of the Catholic Priests (O'Flanagan 1927, 37; Herity 2001).
