Knockbrack holds a holy well now lost to memory, recorded only inCarlow inventories and never found again. The place may have given clean water to nearby fields or received quiet prayers before road works swallowed it. Either way, the land kept a functional shape long enough for people to return, name it and believe it worthy of notice.

The holy well in Knockbrack is associated with Saint Brigid and was traditionally visited for its supposed healing properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes. It was once a site of pilgrimage, with customs including the pouring of coins into the well as an offering.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
