Saint Brigid's well in Kilbride and Kilcoursie appeared in the Down Survey of 1655-6, proving the water belonged to her before modern borders or forgotten paths. People likely drank, washed wounds or left small offerings at that unmarked hole in the earth, trusting her presence more than any written proof. The well vanished from ordinary sight, but it did not vanish from the world; it waits beneath soil, grass or rubble, still answering her name.

Unlocated holy well within the townland of Kilbride, described in the OS Letters of 1840 as a well dedicated to St. Brigid and 'Saint Brigid's well in Kilbride and Kilcoursie - noticed in the Down Survey (1655-6) (O'Flanagan 1927, vol. 1, 48). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). A holy well dedicated to St. Brigid, mentioned in historical surveys from the 17th century and noted in the 19th century, associated with her widespread veneration in Ireland for fertility, healing, and protection. Traditionally linked to cures for ailments and as a site of pilgrimage, particularly on St. Brigid's Day (1st February).
