Holy well at Carrowmore, County Donegal. It stood at the top of the field behind Carrowmore National School, with a station for kneeling or praying beside it. St. Comgall, patron of the local monastery of Both Conais, gave the water its sacred name. The well is closed now, but in local memory the family who closed it never prospered afterwards.

Described by Ó Muirgheasa in 1936 as 'There was a Holy Well with a station at the top of the field at the rere of Carrowmore N. School, but it has been closed. Linked to St. Comgán, the holy well was associated with a pilgrimage station and local devotion, and its closure in the 1930s was believed to have brought misfortune to the responsible family, reflecting the strong folk belief in the spiritual power of such sites.
