Hindscarth Crags is a sea cliff composed primarily of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340 to 320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The crags are notable for their exposure of ancient rock layers and their role in the rugged coastal landscape of the former county of Cumberland.
