What is recorded here

In pasture, to the immediate W of a townland boundary with Honeypound. Enclosure (LI030-024----) lies 110m to S. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork (46m N-S; 39m E-W), not depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map, where the E sector is cut by a railway track running N-S. Monument is annotated ‘The Hovel’ on the Cassini OSi 6-inch map and is depicted similar to the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map. Identified by Frank Coyne in 2012 during preparation of an assessment in the vicinity (Coyne 2012, 24). Levelled monument is visible as a faint oval-shaped cropmark on OSi aerial orthimage taken 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018. See attached Google Earth orthoimage.
