Habitation site in Hughstown

Habitation site

What is recorded here

Seven small boulders outline a four-metre circle in Hughstown, likely the buried foundation of a humble hut rather than a grand ritual site. Inside that modest ring, someone may have sat, breathed and watched the Kildare sky turn dark. The stones no longer stand proud, but they still mark the shape of a life lived small and forgotten.
Traces of a platform with seven small boulders or stumps apparently outlining a circular area (diam. 4m). Possibly a hut foundation, and unlikely to be a stone circle as stone circles in this area are much larger. Date of upload: 15 September 2016
