What is recorded here

Dublin claimed the wandering monk in 1819 after he carried his mysterious memory system from Paris to London and across Scotland. He died at fifty-nine in County Ireland, leaving behind a school founded in his name and a reputation split between devoted pupils and open ridicule. The city that hosted his final years became the place where the Feinaiglian experiment stopped being only a travelling show and entered ordinary institutional life.

Why this person is known: German mnemonist and monk (1760–1819)
