Kilboy, meaning the yellow church, stood on an ancient rath twenty-eight yards wide in County Wicklow. Colonel Acton stopped levelling the ground because his tools struck so many bones they blocked his progress. The graveyard still belongs to the state under a preservation order, keeping that sudden discovery of buried life safe from further disturbance.

Ronan (1928, 150) noted that 'Kilboy or Cill-buidhe (yellow church) (WI031-021002-) stood on an ancient rath, 28 yds. in diameter. When Colonel Acton was levelling it he came across such a quantity of bones that he desisted in his operations. Kilboy was probably the church of Balimacapeil.'
