What is recorded here

Church Island in County Leitrim carries a graveyard name though no buried body has been found there. The O'Rourkes and its church gave the place that identity, while the clean island still withholds the dead the name promises.

There are references to a burial place reserved for the O'Rourkes associated with the church (LE025-060001-) (OS Name Book), but there is no evidence of burial on the island. Date of upload: 6 July, 2017
