Graveslab in Gleninagh North is a stone slab bearing the date 1650 and a carved cross, built into a chimney stack of Gleninagh lodge. Dense ivy and briar now hide much of it, yet the cross still protrudes like a finger pointing at forgotten time. It may have belonged to the holy well nearby, marking death, prayer or ownership before the lodge claimed it. The castle stands sixty metres north, but the slab belongs to the ground beneath, waiting for someone to read what the moss has swallowed.

Built into chimney stack of Gleninagh lodge (Spellissy 1987, 102) now obscured by dense ivy and briar cover, c. 60m S of Gleninagh Castle (CL002-007001-). Recorded as ‘a stone slab bearing the date 1650 and a carved cross built into one of the chimney stack’s’ (ibid.). Cunningham (1980, 35) noted additional indecipherable text. It may have originally been associated with the holy well (CL002-007002-) c. 55m NNW or the ecclesiastical complex (CL002-008----) c. 150m to the S.
