What is recorded here
Kiltegan has been identified as the church of Tecan, a contemporary of St Patrick, though there is no evidence to support this claim (Price 1949, 111). A C of I church was built in 1805 within an ecclesiastical enclosure (WI032-001----). It is likely that an earlier church (WI032-001001-) and graveyard (WI032-001002-) existed within the enclosure, possibly under the 19th-century church, but is no longer visible above ground.
