Grave Yd

In demesne of Drumrahan House, immediately N of millrace. Subrectangular graveyard (c. 60m max. WSW-ENE; c. 32m NNW-SSE) enclosed by earthen bank to S and W, stone wall to N, stone-faced earthen bank to E, all overgrown with trees or shrubs. Ruin of parish church of Rahan (14418) off-centre to E. On 1842 OS 6-inch map, graveyard is larger (c. 68m x 35m) with church at centre; appears to have been truncated to E and S by building of millrace and structures associated with Drumrahan House. In use; oldest headstone noted dated 1772, numerous low uninscribed gravemarkers; Brady (1863, vol. 2, 368) noted inscription on headstone here with date of 1667. Interior of church used for burial.
