Grave Yd is a living triangular graveyard in County Cork where the oldest visible headstone marks 1761, yet the church that gave the place its shape has vanished from sight. The stone wall still holds the boundary, the eastern entrance still receives the living, and the absent chapel remains readable in the layout rather than in brick. People may have stopped building there because the land changed, the faith moved, or the road took priority, but the dead stayed behind. The graveyard continues the work the church could no longer show.

On W side of road. Triangular graveyard, (c. 70m E-W; c. 120m N-S), enclosed by stone wall; entrance to E. In use; earliest headstone noted, located to E of church site, dated 1761. Site of Templemary Church (14453) N of centre. Church depicted as rectangular structure (c. 12m WSW-ENE; c. 7m NNW-SSE) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; remains of church 'traceable' according to OS Field Books of 1840 (Grove White 1905-25, vol. 4, 242); Lewis (1837, vol. 1, 236) refers to 'the ruins of an ancient church or chapel' here.
