Grave Yard is a children's burial ground in County Mayo, Ireland, holding unbaptized babies beneath low, uninscribed stones. The quiet platform still carries the weight of those early losses, while a broken slab near the south edge may mark a local man buried there in the 1930s. Funerals traditionally approached along the stony bank at the north and east, guiding grief through the enclosure rather than past it.

In a rectangular enclosure (MA062-123001). A roughly square, level elevated area (c. 21m NNE-SSW; c. 20m WNW–ESE) within the interior of the rectangular enclosure (MA062-123001) was used for the burial of unbaptized babies. The majority of the raised area is covered with low, uninscribed stone grave markers. Some stones are set upright in the ground but there is also a scatter of stones that appear to simply rest on the ground. A narrow strip of slightly lower ground (Wth c. 8m) at NE, E and SE remains clear of gravemarkers. The upright stone gravemarkers are close-set and arranged in rough N-S rows; most protrude no more than 0.3m above the sod. There is an uninscribed prostrate slab, now broken in two, close to the S margin of the burial ground; according to local information, this marks the grave of a local man buried here in the 1930’s (SMR file, 1984). According to tradition, funerals approached the burial ground by following the line of the stony bank on the N and NE side of the enclosure.
