What is recorded here

Grave Yard stands on a Limerick rise where Carrigogunnel Castle watches from a kilometre away. Medieval ruins and a later church share one roofline inside a stone wall, while new graves stretch south and east. The dead have kept this view for centuries, perhaps watching the castle lights or waiting for living people to notice them.
Situated on rise of ground with good views in all directions. Medieval church ruins (LI012-015001-) in N quadrant of graveyard with post-1700 C of I church attached to S side of medieval ruins. Carrigogunnel Castle (LI004-015----) clearly visible 890m to N. Rectangular shaped area (approx. dims. 43m N-S x 68m E-W) enclosed by a post-1700 stone wall with entrance gate and stile in centre of W wall. Modern graveyard extension to S and E.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
