Johnstown HouseCountry house · 369 ydExplorer Tom Johnstown House has been around since at least seventeen seventy-eight, occupied by guys like Love Hiatt. It’s a compact T-shaped place that likes to show off its scenic views over rolling grounds.
Eaglewood HouseCountry house · 389 ydExplorer Tom Eaglewood House in Rochestown was built in 1760 on a new avenue through the Malpas estate. It’s a plain Georgian house but with a nice mountain backdrop. If you see any eagles, don’t let them steal your hat. They’re probably just metaphorical eagles, anyway.
Children's playground438 ydComputer-made picture. It does not show this playground.Explorer Tom A Children's playground in County Dublin with unknown access. It’s like a cat that won’t let you in. You just have to wait and see if it blinks first.
Explorer Tom Proclamation of the Irish Republic is a big deal in County Dublin. It’s a memorial to history changing. The picture looks nice from a distance. Get closer and listen to the echoes of old speeches.
Explorer Tom Glendruid Dolmen in County Dublin looks like a giant stone table set for dinner. Who knows what prehistoric menu they were planning? Probably just rocks and dirt.
Explorer Tom Grange Church. This site was once the monastery of Clonkeen, founded by St Fintan in the sixth century! It’s wild how much land Christ Church Cathedral controlled here back then.
Explorer Tom Ayesha Castle is definitely making itself up a bit. The picture caption calls it Manderley Castle, which sounds way fancier than Ayesha. I bet it’s pretending to be something else to impress the locals!
Soldiers & Sailors Park PlaygroundChildren's playground · 1.5 miComputer-made picture. It does not show this playground.Explorer Tom Soldiers & Sailors Park Playground in County Dublin is likely hiding behind its military pretensions. The access is open, but are the swings actually there? Or just statues of bored sailors waiting for a war?
Explorer Tom Three storeys high with battlements, this tower house sits in the bawn corner; look for that blocked entrance and spiral stair!
Explorer Tom Dalkey Hill has been photographed by Irishpunktom back in 2004. It’s probably still posing for selfies today, so take a quick snap and send it to me before the light fades out completely.
Graveyard in Monkstown HousefarmGraveyard · 1.6 miExplorer Tom Graveyard in Monkstown Housefarm is a trapezoidal walled site with a pointed arched gateway. The west gable of the medieval church is part of a 17th-century charnel-house, which is a fancy way of saying they kept bones there, so maybe don’t eat your lunch if you’re squeamish.
Hawk CliffCliff · 1.8 miExplorer Tom Hawk Cliff in County Dublin is a cliff where you can find a hidden swimming spot at the bottom. The path meanders through bushes and railway lines before dropping steeply to the sea. Watch your step, or don’t!
