Section of random rubble stone retaining wall, c.1815. Renovated, c.1990, with some sections rebuilt using concrete.

An attractive feature of the street scene of White Wall, the construction in unrefined locally-sourced rubble stone assimilating into the surrounding landscape. The wall is of additional significance for its reputed subsequent use for defensive purposes throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
