What is recorded here

Gateway, c.1840, comprising pair of cut-granite monolithic piers with wrought iron gate.
This gateway is an attractive and subtle feature in Ballitore and is of significance, representing the traditional form of entrance gateway composed of roughly-hewn monolithic piers of little decorative pretension. The vernacular quality of the gateway is in keeping with the modest quality of the architectural stock of the locality. The gateway retains an early surviving wrought iron gate that ought to be preserved.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
