A house representing an integral component of the twentieth-century domestic built heritage of Westport with the architectural value of the composition, one exemplifying the contemporary International Style, confirmed by such attributes as the modelled angular plan form centred on a restrained doorcase; the slight diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a feint graduated visual impression; and the flat roof profile. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, both to the exterior and to the interior, thereby upholding much of the character or integrity of a house making a distinctive visual statement in Quay Road.
