In Longford town (LF013-026----). The presence of a gallows is recorded in the depositions about the 1641 massacre of English settlers in Longford. Ralph Griffin stated that Thomas Allen 'was conveyed over to the town gaol [LF013-026009-], wet and wounded, as he was, and kept in a dungeon from the Thursday night till Saturday morning following, and then conveyed to the gallows by order of a committee of war' (Hickson 1884, vol. 1, 352).
