What is recorded here
Half-buried in the mound, the narrow gallery still points east across the valley, its small stones packed tight enough to resist centuries of rain. The fallen slabs at the west end lie like a door kicked open, suggesting that whatever entered this place did so deliberately and left in a hurry. On a steep slope above Douce Mountain, the tomb has stopped being a monument and become a warning: even the dead need room to breathe.
On small platform on steep N-facing slope of Sruhaunphadeen valley to NE of Douce Mountain. Comprises ruined gallery (L c. 3.5m; Wth 0.5m at E end), aligned ENE-WSW, irregularly constructed of small stones and surrounded by closely-set outer walling. Two fallen stones at W end may be remains of facade. Incorporated in mound on edge of which lie two slabs, possibly displaced roofstones. (de Valera and Ó Nualláin 1982, 24-5, Co. 34)

Neolithic passage tomb; dates to the early to middle Neolithic period (c. 4000–3000 BCE). Its alignment and construction suggest ritual or funerary use, typical of early megalithic traditions in the region.
