What is recorded here

Gallaun is a 3.43 metre standing stone in Glanleam, County Kerry, caught inside a much younger earthwork called Cromwell's Fort. The ancient upright predates the fort by millennia, forcing a choice between deliberate inclusion or careless reuse of a sacred marker. Packing stones and a leaning slab hold it steady today, answering the wobbling that Chatterton witnessed in 1839.

In pasture, below crest of low hillock. Stone (H 1.5m; 0.9m x 0.6m) is subrectangular in plan, long axis NE-SW.
