Gallaun is a tall standing stone in Glanleam, County Kerry, trapped inside a much younger earthwork called Cromwell's Fort. The ancient upright predates the fort by millennia, creating a strange layer where new history swallows old stone. A visitor in 1839 found it shaking, so someone later propped it with a leaning slab. That simple brace has held the stone upright ever since, bridging ages with ordinary human care.
