What is recorded here

Gallaun is a 3.43 metre stone standing inside Cromwell's Fort on the Iveragh Peninsula, County Kerry. The upright predates the fort by millennia, yet the later structure still claims it. A leaning slab and packing stones hold it against the kind of looseness Chatterton described in 1839. The place layers ages without apology, forcing the fort to share its identity with something older and less reasonable.
