Gallan is a vanished standing stone in West Cork, buried or broken beneath pasture on a north-facing slope. The site offers no marker, only the memory of a vertical stone watching the land. That absence is the shape of Gallan now: a hole in the visible world where human hands once pointed toward the sky.
