What is recorded here

Gallán is a subrectangular standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, rising 0.85 metres on a west-facing pasture slope. Its long axis points east-west, and it never appeared on the 1842 or 1904 Ordnance Survey maps. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial, or a place where people gathered before written records. Its absence from official maps suggests it belonged to older local memory rather than state documentation.
