What is recorded here

Gallán is a rectangular standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, rising 1.15 metres on an east-facing pasture slope. Its long axis points northeast-southwest, and it remained absent from both the 1842 and 1904 Ordnance Survey maps. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or a forgotten prayer, yet no human name or date has survived to confirm its purpose.
