What is recorded here

Gallán is a 2.4m rectangular standing stone on a west-facing pasture slope in County Cork, aligned northeast to southwest. It resisted the 1842 surveyors and still refuses easy explanation, marking the landscape with quiet patience rather than loud declaration.

Not shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map. In pasture on W-facing slope. Stone (H 2.4m; 1.5m x 0.9m) is rectangular in plan, long axis NE-SW.
