What is recorded here

Gallán is a one-metre standing stone in flat Cork pasture, absent from both the 1842 and 1904 maps. It rises like a forgotten marker, tall enough to be seen, narrow enough to be overlooked. Perhaps people once aligned it with the sun, marked a boundary, or simply left it standing when every other shape had been taken.

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. In level pasture. Stone (H 1.04m; 0.72m x 0.47m) is subrectangular in plan, long axis N-S.
