What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone on an east-facing slope in County Cork, marked on maps by 1937 but erased from the land around 1971. It stood in working fields, visible only when someone knew where to look, then vanished without a trace. The stone may have guided people through seasons or marked a boundary forgotten by later owners. Its removal leaves a hole in the landscape that no map can fill.
