In uneven scrub beside townland boundary. Removed. May be stone (L 2.5m; 0.7m x 0.7m) now lying beside field fence. Recorded in OS Field Books of 1838 and 1840 as 'Cloughbawn "White Stone"...about 6 feet high' (Grove White 1905-25, vol. 2, 221). According to Bowman (1934, 250), 'Cloch Bhan' referred to c. 40 acres on SE of townland, in which stood the stone; he also noted standing stone as 'broken and removed'. Likely dating to the Bronze Age, this standing stone may have had ritual or territorial significance. The name "White Stone" suggests possible local folklore or use in traditional practices.
