Enclosure in Glentaneatnagh North

In rough ground, on W bank of Ownagluggin River. Subrectangular raised area (12.1m NE-SW; 8.5m NW-SE) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.6m). Outer face of bank highest (H 1.2m) on SE side (facing river). Site denuded by cattle and partially overgrown with furze. Stone-faced scarp (L 10m) extends NE, from NE end of enclosure; depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map as field boundary running parallel to river for c. 100m, before joining perpendicular field boundary system.
