What is recorded here

Gallán is a leaning standing stone on the south side of Claragh Mountain, County Cork. It measures 1.35m high, 1.3m long and 0.7m wide, with its long axis running NE-SW and tilting NNE. The stone did not appear on the 1842 or 1904 OS 6-inch maps. It may have marked a boundary, a burial or a seasonal gathering place, though no human name or date survives with it.
