What is recorded here

Gallan is a rectangular standing stone in West Cork, aligned northwest to southeast and rising 2.3 metres above pasture. It stands alone, not buried or broken, with views in every direction. A person may have set it there to mark a boundary, honour a death or watch a road. The stone still does that work, waiting for someone to remember why.
