What is recorded here

On a rise in gently undulating pastureland. This standing stone consists of a squat granite boulder (H c. 2.3m; Wth 1.4m) which irregular in plan. It originally stood on a rectangular stone structure (L 3m; Wth 2m) defined by grassed-over stones but was removed during field clearance in the early 1970s. Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, this standing stone may have had ritual or territorial significance. The base suggests it was part of a more elaborate structure, possibly a cairn or monument.
