What is recorded here

Gallán is a one-metre standing stone in County Cork pasture, tilted NW-SE on an east-facing slope. It resisted mapping in 1842 and 1904, suggesting either cartographic neglect or deliberate human erasure. A subrectangular block of that size may have marked a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or a warning. The absence from official maps does not diminish the stone; it reveals that some truths outlast the systems built to record them.
